Everything else you may want to know

No — MK3 only. Earlier models use a different architecture

Drop Control XL.amxd into any existing Live Set — it reads your track layout immediately. The starter set demonstrates the workflow, not a replacement for your project. Why mappings don’t carry between Live Sets →

Modes 1–10 stay yours — load our instrument layouts over them or keep your own; the device only needs the cross-mode jump (CC47) and Undo/Redo (CC45–CC46) present in each. Modes 11–14 are overwritten with the mixer layout, and mode 15 holds the cue layout for Prelisten

Yes — it ships as an .amxd device. If your Live edition includes M4L, you're set

In Live's MIDI preferences (Link · Tempo · MIDI), switch on Track and Remote for both the Launch Control XL input and output ports. Without them Live won't route the controller to Control XL and nothing will respond
